INTRIA to Exit Print and Insertion Business

MISSISSAUGA, ON, January 20, 2011, INTRIA, announced plans today to exit the print and insertion business. The company cites declining print volumes as a result of an industry-wide trend toward electronic communications in the financial services sector.

The increase in electronic presentment and subsequent decline in physical print volumes is expected to accelerate as Canadian consumers continue to demonstrate a preference for online presentation of information. As a result, INTRIA plans to focus on its core competency of providing cheque processing and currency services.

"INTRIA's strength has always been as a provider of high-quality, cost effective solutions," notes company President, Bob Bouey. "This change will allow us to invest our energy in driving future capabilities, benefits and service enhancements in our cheque and currency businesses, resulting in superior service for our customers."
